When Jamie Stewart’s final bid on an on-line, classic auto auction site wins him his coveted 1972 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 convertible, he flies to Eugene, Oregon from San Diego with great expectations for both the car, and a solo, dream drive home down the California Coast.
During the purchase, he befriends Margo Simpson, the elderly, widowed owner, and agrees to let her travel with him. His drive home was the trip she and her husband planned for decades, but never took. The trip that follows reveals more about the car's very dark history, both rider, their children, and married life. An overnight in San Francisco adds Jamie’s oldest daughter Flynn to the backseat to finish the drive to solve her problems, and opens hope for renewal with Margo’s youngest son who lives in the bay area.
Bridges and Blind Corners puts the reader in the car and lives of its passengers as they navigate down through the wonders of California while dealing with the wake of their pasts, present problems, and hopes of their futures.
